Open conversation about apophenia which involves seeing patterns or connections in things that are actually random or unrelated. Other tendency’s is to perceive meaningful connections between unrelated ideas or events. It’s the human inclination to find patterns, even where none exist, and can lead to seeing significance in rando occurrences.  This could include seeing a face in a cloud, interpreting a sequence of numbers as a sign, or believing that unrelated events are connected in a meaningful way.
