The title of this Retablo and its mono chromatic palette, work in tandem to illustrate the idea of balance and visual continuity. The gradient shift of the white circles or dots represents time, distance and place. The mono chromatic color of Burnt Umber mixed with Gamboge (hue) is an attempt to represent dry blood.

Today post-modern humanist continue pushing secularism, science, reason and brutish human behaviors as the new cultural normative.  Clearly the goal of secularism is to minimize or eradicate ancestorial spirituality.  As an artists I’m compelled and morally obligated to address the blatant disregard for indigenous culture and its civilization. This Retablo is one of many in which the task is to visually transmit the idea of (value), that we as the human beings  should try harder to learn from our collative ancestral knowledge and prevent the danger of cultural amnesia.
