Open conversation about the confessional nature of artists works. The visual narrative of this mixed media object serves as a funerary mask.
Modern funerary masks, also known as death masks, are not commonly made today, as photography has largely replaced their use for preserving a person’s likeness. However, the practice has been revived by some artists. This object is my artistic exploration into a conceptual masks, while inspired by traditional practice, it take on a new meanings and artistic interpretations.
